THE LUXURY COLLECTION EXPANDS MILAN PORTFOLIO WITH CASA BRERA, A LUXURY COLLECTION HOTEL, MILAN, DESIGNED BY INDUSTRY ICON PATRICIA URQUIOLA

Marriott International has welcomed Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan, to the prestigious Luxury Collection portfolio as of January 2025, following the hotel’s opening in Autumn 2024.Designed by internationally renowned architect and designer Patricia Urquiola, the property is located in the artistic Brera neighbourhood and is a careful restoration of a historic building with a blend of Milanese heritage and cosmopolitan flair. Casa Brera offers 101 guestrooms and 15 suites that seamlessly combine timeless elegance with contemporary touches, using select materials such as walnut wood, Fior di Pesco marble, backlit brass and printed glass to reflect the colours and character of Milan. The culinary direction of Casa Brera is helmed by the acclaimed Michelin-starred Italian Chef Andrea Berton, who curates the offerings for the all-day dining lounge Livingand Etereo skybar and restaurant, which is located on the eighth and top floor of the hotel. Its terrace offers a rare 360-degree view over the city’s rooftops and a spectacular rooftop pool. Rounding out Casa Brera’s culinary offering is the intimate Japanese restaurant Odachi, offering a unique dining experience curated by Chef Haruo Ichikawa, the first Japanese chef to receive a Michelin star in Italy.

UNLOCKING SAUDI ARABIA’S RICH HERITAGE: BAB SAMHAN, A LUXURY COLLECTION HOTEL, DIRIYAH OPENS AMIDST A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE IN RIYADH

The Luxury Collection announced the opening of Bab Samhan, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Diriyah, situated in the heart of Riyadh’s historic district. Known for its historical significance and ancient architecture, Diriyah is home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, At-Turaif, which offers guests a glimpse into the region's past with well-preserved and restored palaces, mosques, and mudbrick structures that are emblematic of Nadj, the central region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Nestled within a labyrinth of alleyways, the hotel is the first to open in Diriyah by The Luxury Group by Marriott International and captures the region’s low-contour, mudbrick architecture with open courtyards and spaces to gather. The property’s 134 guestrooms and 23 suites reflect Nadji design with light cream hues and geometrical patterns complimented by local art, books and artifacts. The hotel invites guests to discover Saudi Arabia’s rich epicurean traditions with three distinctive restaurants each authentically showcasing the styles and presentations of the region's cuisine, and for the ultimate indulgence guests can enjoy organic, restorative treatments and wellness experiences at The Earthen Spa

THE AUTOGRAPH COLLECTION DEBUTS IN PORTO WITH FORTE DE GAIA, HOTEL PORTO

Autograph Collection Hotels has celebrated its debut in Porto, Portugal with Forte De Gaia, Autograph Collection, located along the River Douro just across from Porto’s historic city centre. Conveniently situated in the cobblestoned streets of the Vila Nova de Gaia neighbourhood renowned for its world-famous Port wine cellars, Forte De Gaia, Autograph Collection is inspired by Portuguese wine culture. The hotel’s design, helmed by Portuguese designer Nini Andrade Silva, is inspired by the Douro Valley wine region, with materials such as wood and cork featured throughout to reflect the iconic vast Port wine barrels and harvest baskets, as well as curved lines to mimic the valley’s vineyard landscapes. Guests can join exclusive wine tastings and masterclasses with local sommeliers to fully immerse themselves in the region’s wine culture. The hotel’s on-site restaurant, Dona Maria, is a tribute to local Porto cuisine, helmed by Chef João Vieira with traditional recipes inspired by the dishes of northern Portugal. With a heated outdoor swimming pool, Forte de Gaia, Autograph Collection, is a true urban oasis, just moments away from the best Porto has to offer.

Tribute Portfolio has welcomed The Passenger, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Salzburg, Austria, into its global family of independent boutique hotels bound by their indie spirit. Located in the Europark Business Center and the city’s landmark “Helix”, this new hotel offers modern design and comfort across its 120 guestrooms and suites, along with two restaurants and bars, inviting business travellers, leisure seekers, and locals alike to enjoy unique experiences. The hotel's décor features bright colours and distinctive art pieces throughout its welcoming, light-filled spaces. Embodying the essence of the local community, The Passenger Terrace hosts regular after-work events and weekend brunches, creating a lively experience for guests and locals against Salzburg’s scenic backdrop. The restaurant also features local seasonal produce in its weekly changing menus. MICE travellers can take advantage of the hotel’s state-of-the-art event spaces accommodating up to 300 guests. Flexible spaces include the charismatic “Blue Room”, “Secret Room” and the board rooms connecting to the "White Cube Terrace”, an outdoor oasis ideal for events and gatherings. MOXY LANDS IN ANTWERP’S VIBRANT NIEUW ZUID DISTRICT

Continuing the celebration of the brand’s 10th anniversary, Moxy Hotels has debuted its playful spirit in Antwerp, with the 137-guest room Moxy Antwerp,located in the trendy Nieuw Zuid district. In keeping with Moxy’s trademark style, guests are greeted with a complimentary house cocktail or mocktail at the Moxy Bar, a stylish space where guests and locals can come together to work and socialise. The design of Moxy’s second Belgian location pays homage to the Antwerp Six – a group of Belgian designers who rose to prominence in the 1980s and put Antwerp on the global fashion map – with striking graphics and quirky design details throughout. The design also subtly nods to the city’s port heritage, such as ship lamps adorning the lobby walls. Guests staying at Moxy Antwerp will have the vibrant Nieuw Zuid district on their doorstep, with countless restaurants, bars and cultural experiences to choose from.

Courtyard by Marriott has made its entry into Malta with the opening of Courtyard by Marriott Sliema. Situated in Sliema, Valletta’s charming central district, the new hotel offers 151 thoughtfully designed guestrooms and a variety of leisure facilities along the serene coastline. Showcasing Courtyard’s signature European design, the property features neutral earth tones with pops of blue hues and metallic accents in addition to design elements inspired by fishermen's traps and local prickly pear plants that thrive on the island. MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL SIGNS AGREEMENT TO BRING THE RITZ-CARLTON TO SERBIA

Marriott International has announced the introduction of The Ritz-Carlton brand in Serbia. Anticipated to welcome guests in 2027, The Ritz-Carlton, Belgrade will bring the brand’s legendary service and elegant design to the Capital city. The new hotel is expected to feature 193 elegantly appointed guestrooms and suites along with The Ritz-Carlton Club experience and two distinct dining venues. Plans for the property include a range of facilities such as an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and spa, along with more than 1,700 sqm of meetings and events space. The hotel will be situated on the Nikola Tesla Boulevard, right on the Danube Riverfront, in close proximity to government institutions and the business district. The location will also provide convenient access to Stark Arena, Sava Congress Centre and Belgrade’s old town. The new build property is planned to be a part of the site revitalisation of the former Hotel Jugoslavija, bringing this famous location back to life.

W HOTELS DEBUTS IN BRAZIL WITH THE UNVEILING OF W SAO PAULO

W São Paulohas opened its doors, marking W Hotels’ brand debut in Brazil. Located in a sleek skyscraper in São Paulo's buzzing southern business district, the hotel features striking, cutting-edge architecture and a contemporary design, offering breathtaking views of the Pinheiros River and the city skyline. A collaboration between architects Aflalo/Gasperini Arquitetos, landscaping from Benedito Abbud and interiors by Nini de Andrade Silva, W São Paulo celebrates Brazilian modernist architecture with angular lines, sinuous curves, and a vivid colour palette featuring greens, blues, metallics, and golden tones. The unique design pieces and organic materials like Brazilian stone and wood create a playful yet sophisticated environment that captures the city's cultural essence, blending modern luxury and local heritage. The hotel’s 179 stylishly designed guestrooms and suites start on the 25th floor, all with sweeping city views. The hotel is home to three dining experiences, including L40 Cozinha de Latitude, led by Executive Chef Thomaz Leão, to celebrate gastronomy around the world while seamlessly infusing local ingredients and culinary techniques; Baio Cozinha Sulista, crafted by Chef Tuca Mezzomo, offers an innovative take on Southern Brazilian cuisines honouring the region’s culinary traditions; and Yōso Bar and Café provides an immersive culminating in Japanese mixology. The hotel also boasts the brand’s signature AWAY Spa, FIT gym, and WET Deck with an outdoor pool. An ornate walkway bridges Rua Funchal to Rua Helena, allowing guests to reach the city easily. Marriott International has announced it has signed an agreement with Al Ali Property Investments (API) to bring Moxy Hotel’s playful spirit to Dubai’s Al Barsha neighbourhood. Moxy Al Barsha Dubai, set to open summer 2025, will emerge from the transformation of an existing property through a comprehensive brand positioning and refurbishment process. Staying true to the Moxy brand, the hotel is expected to feature 480 stylishly designed, tech-savvy guestrooms, complemented by dynamic common areas and bold social programming. Located in Al Barsha, one of Dubai’s most rapidly growing neighbourhoods, the new hotel will be perfectly positioned to offer guests a taste of the area’s diverse attractions.
