Sheraton Grand London Park Lane launches Spring Drinks Menu inspired by London's infamous history

Sheraton Grand London Park Lane is celebrating the sunnier months with a brand-new floral drinks menu set to put a spring in guests steps. From May 16th, visitors can experience the delicious offering which comes with a unique history lesson.

The menu of three exciting cocktails is inspired by the almost unbelievable tale surrounding King Charles II and the city’s iconic Green Park, which sits just a stone’s throw away from the five-star hotel. Rumour has it that throughout his reign, King Charles II would take the short walk from Buckingham Palace to Green Park to pick the gorgeous flowers blossoming in the green especially for his mistress. Upon hearing the news, his wife, Queen Catherine of Braganza, ordered all the flowers to be removed from the park, coining the familiar name ‘Green Park’. To this day, Green Park remains the only London park to be without planted flower beds.

For the first time, Sheraton Grand London Park Lane will be bringing the flowers back to Green Park through the hotel’s exclusive floral drinks menu. The menu will be served in the breathtaking art-deco Palm Court and the Park View Suites, where guests can sip on a stunning drink while overlooking the space that inspired it. Guests that want to feel a deeper connection to nature can order their cocktail of choice to go and take it across the short distance to Green Park and enjoy the blossoming of flavours in the gorgeous surroundings.

Sheraton Grand’s master mixologists have encapsulated the taste of spring through wonderfully crafted cocktails including fresh floral flavours such as rose, marigolds and carnations. The new menu includes:

The ‘King Charles’s English Rose’ is a rose inspired cocktail that houses English rose petals, Rose liqueur, maraschino, citrus and topped up with tonic.

The ‘Queen Catherine’s Revenge’ is based around marigolds and features yellow

Absinthe, yellow chartreuse, apricot brandy and finished off with homemade marigold honey syrup

Completing the collection, the ‘Mistresses Martini’ is based on carnations and has red carnations, clarified watermelon, vodka and red carnation syrup.

Justin Pinchbeck, General Manager at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane comments: “Spring is such a beautiful time of year in London and we are blessed to be located just over the road from Green Park. We are delighted to be celebrating the history of our local area by bringing the Green Park story alive with some flavours we know our talented mixology team have been working hard on. The selection of spring cocktails on our menu is an unrivalled experience and we cannot wait to welcome guest to try a tipple or two.”

The floral drinks are available to enjoy from May 16th until September 30th 2022. The menu will be served in the hotel’s Palm Court bar and exclusively the Park View Suites. Please visit www.marriott.com/hotels for further information.
