Marriott International is set to elevate the hospitality scene in Sub-Saharan Africa with a collection of striking new hotels opening this year, including properties in Tanzania, South Africa, Cape Verde, Madagascar, and Uganda. Set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Turaco Ngorongoro Valley, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Tanzania will be Marriott International’s first safari lodge in Tanzania’s Northern Circuit, featuring 37 suites designed to resemble traditional boma-shaped Maasai homes. In Cape Town, Morea House, Autograph Collection, South Africa, will offer stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain, with 90 guestrooms inspired by the natural beauty and colour palette of the surrounding earth sea and local culture. Also in Cape Town, the Lord Charles Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, in Somerset West will blend historic charm with modern comfort across 198 guestrooms and resort-style amenities, including two outdoor pools, tennis courts, landscaped indigenous gardens, and a tranquil dam supporting local wildlife. Marking Marriott International’s entry into Cape Verde is Four Points by Sheraton São Vincent Laginha Beach – offering direct beach access, sweeping vistas of the Atlantic Ocean and 128 spacious guestrooms and suites. Delta Hotels by Marriott Antananarivo also represents Marriott International’s debut in Madagascar and will offer a serene retreat amidst the bustling capital, Antananarivo, with 106 guestrooms and panoramic city views. Lastly, the Kampala Marriott Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments Kampala in Uganda will cater to both business travellers and those seeking extended stays, featuring 181 guestrooms and 96 fully equipped apartments. LONDON MARRIOTT HOTEL COUNTY HALL UNVEILS NEW GUESTROOMS AND SUITES

London Marriott Hotel County Hall, one of London’s most historic hotels, has unveiled 35 new guestrooms and suites with breathtaking views of iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and the London Eye. Set in the historic former City Hall on London’s South Bank, dating back to 1922, these additions enhance the hotel’s celebrated British experience, bringing guests closer to the city’s most beloved landmarks while capturing the essence of great British style with a contemporary twist. The new guestrooms’ bespoke features include pocket-watch print curtains, bowler hat artwork, and wallpaper that doubles as a map of London. Marble bathrooms, plush bedding, and spacious layouts complete the refined yet playful atmosphere. The brand-new Big Ben Balcony Suite features a large private balcony with views of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, whilst the South Bank Balcony Suite overlooks the London Eye and River Thames. Designed for multi-generational trips or celebratory gatherings, these suites combine elegance with versatility promising the ultimate London experience. Additionally, the hotel’s Club facilities have reopened with extensive upgrades, accessible for both hotel guests and the public with a day pass or membership. The new 24/7 gym features the latest Technogym equipment, including a state-of-the-art Therabody station with elite sports massage devices, and a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, open from 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., in a serene setting flooded with natural daylight.

Hotel Bristol, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Warsaw, a cultural landmark in the city, now offers guests an exclusive opportunity to explore their roots and uncover fascinating family stories. In partnership with renowned Polish genealogist Anna Wiernicka, the hotel has introduced two packages tailored to beginners and those seeking deeper insights into their ancestry. The “Introduction to Your Family History” package includes four hours of research, while the “Extended Research” package features an introductory meeting or video call and 16 hours of research. Both packages include a detailed result presentation hosted by Anna and her team of genealogists during the hotel stays. Bringing over 20 years of experience in genealogy, Anna Wiernicka is a member of the Association of Polish Professional Genealogists and the Association of Professional Genealogists (USA). Her work has been recognised internationally, and she was involved in the production of the award-winning UK TV show “Who Do You Think You Are?” on BBC.

Marriott International has unveiled plans to open two luxury tented safari camps in Kenya: The Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp and JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp, which aim to set new standards for high-end, luxury hospitality in some of Africa’s most breathtaking safari destinations. Expected to open in August 2025, The Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp will introduce the brand’s legendary service and elegant design to the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve, renowned for its abundant wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and the Great Migration. This treetop retreat will offer picturesque views of the Sand River and forest. The property is expected to feature 20 elegantly appointed tented suites, including a four-bedroom presidential suite, each with a living area, private sunken lounge, infinity plunge pool, and indoor and outdoor showers. Expected to open in early 2026, JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp is poised to provide the perfect retreat for the mind, body, and soul, bringing the brand’s exceptional service and sophisticated design to the heart of the Solio Game Reserve. Nestled between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains, this sanctuary will offer an immersive wildlife experience within the 45,000-acre game reserve, and 19,000-acre Solio Ranch Conservancy. Known for its successful rhino breeding programme, the conservancy provides encounters with white and endangered black rhinos, along with other indigenous wildlife including leopards, cheetahs, and plains game. JW Marriott has opened JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort, its second resort in the Maldives. Nestled in Kaafu Atoll’s largest lagoon, just 15 minutes by boat from Velana International Airport, this retreat offers an idyllic sanctuary to recharge. Designed by acclaimed architect Cuneyt Bukulmez of Türkiye-based Atolye4N, the resort offers 80 private pool villas, including 47 overwater pool villas all with expansive terraces, uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean, and access to pristine lagoons.
